ACLS/PALS Provider Recertification Details
If you have been ACLS and/or PALS certified, you are elgible to take our online recertification program.
Online recertification provides the opportunity to study and review at your own pace and, when you are ready, take the examination in the comfort of your own home or office. Upon successful completion, you will receive your ACLS or PALS card, as well as a continuing professional education certificate for up to 10 hours of credit.
Since many healthcare professionals maintain their proficiency and knowledge after taking the provider course, a self-paced review followed by re-examination provides the most expedient and cost-effective method to recertify.
Our recertification program comes with online materials preparation case studies. We recommend you review these as part of your preparation. Each case study has practice questions which test your knowledge of the material. Once you are comfortable with the new material, you can take the examination.
The national provider certification examination is based on the most recent publications of the American Heart Association (AHA) International Committee of Resuscitation (ILCOR), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the National Board of Emergency Care Certifications (NBECC). The exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions (30 questions for PALS), covering the core concepts of ACLS or PALS.
Successful completion requires a minimum score of 84% on the written examination, and completion of the online clinical skills evaluation form.
Once you have registered for a certification exam, the online exam will be available to you for 90 days.
Once you begin your exam, there is no time limit, so if you are called away, you can continue taking the exam when you return.
